Don't Stop Yourself !

We aim, we have dreams, we have purpose, we have our own needs. Still we don't try to achieve it.

We know what what we want, just for the sakenof our laziness, our efforts, society, I'm some cases family, money and some stupid shows which aren't useful we stop working on ourselves. We remain the same, but the market changes, we remain the same but the mobile apps gets updated, we remain the same and become irrelevant.

What's stopping you from becoming an expert in your own field?

If you are struggling to make it big, you need to read this email.

You’ll know why you are struggling and what to do about it.

You can learn almost anything and become good at it now.

You have access to more information in the form of blog posts and videos.

You can access training programs and courses. Many  of them are even free to learn online or else any company resources are always free to gain information. What I'm saying is people will find a way if have to achieve. I know things are too much difficult to handle right now, but a lil bit of effort on yourself will give a compound affect going forward. If money is a problem, it'll always be there, tomorrow there'll be even more shortage of money too. A simple thing what can be done is do freelancing, work in your free time in your area of interest and learn while earning.

Setting up a website, getting visitors to it, building an email list, creating a program/product or service and getting your first customer is easier than ever before.

Still, people find it challenging to learn desired subject/field, become good at it, get a decent job and pay, make a living as a freelancer or start a business.

But not all. There is a small percentage of people who are making a killing.

After researching and talking to thousands of people, I’ve found why people are struggling to succeed.

The reasons are:

Passive learning
Knowledge isn't skill
Lack of accountability
These are the three things that stop you and everyone from succeeding.

Let's talk about each in detail.

#1: Passive Learning

Passive learning is the biggest problem that hurts our growth.

We are consuming more information than ever before.

We are reading more blog posts every day.

We are watching more videos.

We are attending more webinars. There are so many social media posts.

We are buying more ebooks and courses because we can afford them now.

But how much do we remember right now?

How much have we learned?

Very little, I believe.

It's not just you. It happens to everyone, including myself.

Consuming information isn't equal to learning because our ability to focus and maintain attention has gone down.

According to recent research, our attention span is less than 8 seconds.

It means when we've read a book or a blog post or watch a video, we aren’t focusing fully. We are focusing on 8-second bursts.

That’s the problem.

After a day or two, we don’t remember the concepts that we picked up aka learned from reading or watching because we didn’t pay attention.

It gives us the feeling that we learned something while in reality, we didn’t.

That's what I call passive learning.

What is passive learning?

The act or method of learning where you spend time learning something but not retaining the information you learned.

For example:

Imagine you are reading a blog post.

As you read, there is an email notification or a WhatsApp message. You take a look at it and continue.

As you proceed, you want to see how people react to the latest Facebook post you wrote. Did it get few more likes? Did anyone else comment?

You pause reading for a minute and head to Facebook.

Your one-minute plan extends to 10 minutes or more because there were a couple of messages, an attractive ad and another blog post recommended by your friend.

One thing leads to another, and that leads to something else, and before you realize you left the blog post, you started reading..an hour is gone.

Somehow you manage to complete the post in between all the distractions.

Now would you remember what did you read?

What was the key takeaway you learned from the post?

How can you use it for you or your client?

I challenge that you cannot answer them without taking another look at the blog post.

Though you read a post, you haven't learned anything because you were distracted.

You were skimming the content without processing the information because your attention span is low and you were focusing in bursts.

That applies to everything you do.

You might watch a kickass video packed with loads of information but might not have retained much of the information.

Because as you watched it, you were also engaging in several other activities like checking messages, chatting with a friend etc.

You weren't just focusing on what's on the video.

That lack of attention and inability to focus or concentrate is the issue.

Since you aren't concentrating, you aren't processing and storing the information.

Which means you aren't retaining the information.

If you aren't retaining the information, you cannot use it when you need it.

It is as good as not reading the post or watching the video.

That's why passive learning is the biggest problem we face,

It gives us the false belief that we have learned something whereas we haven't in real.

#2: Knowledge isn't equal to skill

This is the second trap.

Now, let's assume you managed to overcome distractions, paid attention and grasped the concept.

Congrats.

You've done well.

But...

Reading a blog post or a book or watching a video can help you accumulate knowledge.

You can learn how to fix a leaking tap by watching a video. But to stop the leak, you need to apply your newly acquired knowledge and fix the problem.

You can learn how to draw a flower by reading or watching a video. But the flower will only appear when you put the pencil on the paper.

You can learn how to write a kickass email. But you need to write an email to get the results.

Learning how to do something is knowledge.

Doing it is the action.

Producing the desired result in the skill.

Learning how to do something cannot produce results. To get the desired results, you need to take action.

That's why knowledge isn't equal to skill.

To become skilled, you need to take action.

You need to apply the knowledge to produce the results.

And that's what happens with all the blog posts and books you read or videos you watch, or the podcasts you listen to.

You are adding more knowledge to your kitty.

But knowledge isn't enough.

You cannot grow your career or business with knowledge.

You cannot make your dreams, wishes, aspirations come true with your knowledge.

You need to take action or implement what you learned and get results. That's how knowledge becomes a skill.

And only that skill will grow your career and business.

Only Skill will help you achieve your dreams and aspirations.

This is why most of the courses or books or webinars and other programs don't work for you.

You aren't implementing or taking action because you aren't accountable.

That's the third problem.

#3: Lack of accountability

Before we discuss, answer the next two questions honestly.

How many books have you bought recently but still haven't read?

How many courses have you bought but haven't opened after the first day?

I'm sure the response to both is "a lot."

Again it's not just you.

Many of us have such skeletons in our closets.

That's one reason I stopped creating courses and decided to build the solution I'll introduce in the end.

See, you want to improve.

You want to go to the next level in your life and career.

You want to improve your skills.

That's why you spent your hard-earned money and purchased the programs.

The very first day after the purchase, you are very eager to begin and change your life.

But then life comes calling. You are needed somewhere else. Some task is waiting for you.

You cannot skip the work or the commitment and learn the program.

Because the course isn't going anywhere.

It comes with lifetime access. You can learn it anytime.

Also, if you don't watch the videos or learn, no one will care about it. No one is going to fine you or penalize you.

This means, even if you don't take action, no one is giving a damn about it.

There is no accountability.

And you know what happens when there is no accountability.

It breeds laziness and procrastination and leads to inaction.

If you don't watch the videos, you will not learn anything or even gain the knowledge.

If you aren't gaining knowledge, you cannot implement it.

If you don't implement, you aren't going to get the results.

And with no results, no growth, no success and no dreams coming true.
